Beyblade Tournaments Australia

Frootloops - The Snake Pit

This tournament will use the Frootloops gimmick! Another format from the sick and twisted mind of Ozzie, in Frootloops both deck building and battles are turned on their head.

Tournament starts at 1:30PM, late arrivals will not be able to compete.

Gimmick Rules

Deck Building

Build a deck of 3 beys with no repeating colours. Repeating parts are allowed as long as they aren't the same colour.

Painted parts are considered the original colour of the part.

Colour Categories

To keep things simple, colours are grouped into the following categories. You may only have one part from each category in your deck.

Red Orange Yellow
Purple Blue Green
Pink Brown Teal
Black Grey White

Part Colours Considered

Many parts have multiple colours, as such only one of the colours are considered for the no repeating colours rule. For each part these are:

Blade - Inner plastic colour (the colour on the bottom of the blade)
Ratchet - Outer section colour
Bit - Bottom section colour
Assist blades and lock chips aren't counted.

Matches

Spin finishes are 0 points
Over finishes are 1 point
Xtreme finishes are 1 point
Burst finishes are 2 points
Winning 3 battles in a row scores you a "Sugar Rush", scoring you 5 points

Spin finishes count toward a Sugar Rush.

Group stage matches are First to 5. However, points scored over 5 are counted, as they affect seeding in the finals bracket. For example, if you get 3 over finishes in a row, your score is recorded as 8 (1+1+1+5).

The finals are a gauntlet style bracket with seeding determined by points scored. Finals matches are first to 9 points.

Tournament Details

Juniors Tournament

There will be a Juniors tournament for kids 12 and under run at the same time as the main tournament. This is optional and kids may still join the main tournament if they wish. However you may only join one of the tournaments. If not enough kids show up (at least 5), they will be entered into the main tournament.

Part Bans

The blade Aero Pegasus is banned at this event because it is too inaccessible.

The blades Wizard Rod/Wand Wizard and Silver Wolf are banned for Juniors tournaments.

The bit Metal Needle is banned at all our events because it can damage stadiums.

Other Info

We'll be upstairs in the Oldfield room. As this is upstairs it's not wheelchair accessible unfortunately.

The tournament is likely to last at least a few hours. If you can't commit to the entire tournament, you're welcome to come watch and play for fun instead!

There will be an area for casual play, for while you're waiting your turn in the tournament, or if you're not interested in competitive play.

I will be lending out some beyblades for those without, or those with a very limited selection. But you are encouraged to buy your own - buyer's guide here.

If your young children are attending, I cannot be responsible for their safety, please ensure that they are accompanied by a guardian if they cannot take care of themselves.
